This Privacy Policy explains how Daiso Holding USA Inc. and Daiso USA LLC (collectively, “Daiso,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information of consumers in the United States. This Policy applies to information collected online, in our retail stores, and through other interactions with Daiso.

We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We may share certain personal information for advertising and analytics purposes as permitted by applicable law. California residents have the right to opt out of such sharing.

Definitions

“Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked with an identifiable individual.

“Sensitive Personal Information” has the meaning provided under applicable state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”).

Depending on how you interact with Daiso, we may collect the following categories of personal information, where applicable and permitted by law:

  • Internet or network activity information (such as browsing interactions with our websites)

  • Inferences drawn from the above to improve customer experience

Daiso does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, passport numbers, genetic data, or precise geolocation data from consumers, except in limited circumstances where required by law (for example, employment, tax reporting, or fraud prevention).

We do not share sensitive personal information for this purpose.  We work with third-party advertising and analytics providers that use cookies, tracking pixels and similar technologies to help measure customer conversion tracking, advertising performance, deliver relevant advertisements, and analyze interactions across the internet.  These providers may collect information about your interactions over time and across different websites or online services.  Examples of these providers include advertising platforms, social media networks and analytics services.  You may opt out of this data collection by visiting industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out page (www.aboutads.info/choices) or by adjusting your device, browser or account advertising settings with the applicable third-party platforms.  

Daiso honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information where required by law.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Consumer Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to:

  • Access personal information we hold about you
  • Request deletion of certain personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of targeted advertising or sharing of personal information
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information (California residents)

We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days, with extensions permitted by law.

Appeals (Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia)

If we deny your request, you may appeal by contacting legal@daiso-usa.com. We will respond to appeals within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Children’s Information

Daiso does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it.

Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
